Junior Infants Visit the Train Station

Posted by: Mr. Ryan | May 18, 2017 | No Comment |

Junior Infants went on a trip to the local train station on Friday. We are learning all about trains and transport through ‘Aistear’. We learned about the history of the train station. We found out where the trains go to and where they come from. We learned about the importance of safety near trains.

We were very lucky to get an opportunity to see a train stop and collect passengers who were going to Limerick! We even met Gooseberry the train station cat!

Thank you to Ms. Jones and Mr. MacAullife who came with us.  A big thank you to Barbara who told us all about the train station!

Hurling Leagues

Posted by: Mr. Ryan | May 10, 2017 | No Comment |
We have been very busy running our School hurling leagues at break time. We have teams of six aside with every pupil in the school participating. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at break time two teams from either the junior or senior end of the school take part.
The player of the day gets to take home the Ahane Gaa mascot. We have set up an email address so that each player can send in a picture of themselves with the mascot. These will be displayed here and also on the School club notice board. Keep an eye out for the pictures here…..
None of this would have been possible without Miss Cavanagh who has put a huge amount of work and organising in to running this. A huge thanks to Miss Cavanagh and Mr. Murray who give up their time to run this league.
We are all having great fun
